Description

The 1st generation of the Apple pencil has a problem: it can only be charged through its lightning port via a special adapter.

That whole protocol is unnecessarily complicated and stressful, as there are small pieces involved that can be lost very easily.

So, I decided to make a custom docking station, to make the workflow of using the Apple pencil a lot more convenient and inspiring. Also, it keeps the workspace organized and clutter-free.

To make the stand more stable, I filled it with cement. The 3D file that has 'Mold' in its name is designed to be used during the curing of the cement, as to make room for the cable that can be installed when the cement has cured. Check out this short and edited video I made to see the whole build process, as well as a demonstration about how convenient the station is:

Looks nice, clean fit. Can’t wait to pick up some cement to finish it off.
