Description

The Ford Mustang Mach-E center console wireless charger leaves a lot to be desired. It rarely allows for a consistent connection to charge your phone. To remedy this I generated the following model to bury a stronger wireless charger (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0C1NBNN2C?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details) that can plug into the USB C Port in the center console.

This solution fits iPhone 12-15 or similarly sized phones. Larger phones will need to expand the top base where the wireless charger is buried.

The layers between the charger and the top of the tray are thin enough to allow for a MagSafe connection to align the charger and the phone as well as hold the phone in place. When removing the phone simply slide the phone a little bit and it will come off without lifting the tray.

Printed this in PETG to be resistant to deformation under high heat in the summer.

Rev A (2024-03-08):

Added a model with a logo where the charger is to help visually place the phone as well as deepen some of the tray areas to maximize the types of items you can place in there. The charger area also has some relief pockets to allow for the phone to lay a little bit flatter to avoid the camera lifting up and not making as solid of a wireless connection.

Future iterations will likely focus on:

1. Deeper trays (by extending the tray further up the center console walls)

2. Higher walls between the trays

3. Larger radius fillets on the trays to prevent cracking at the thinner outer walls
