3D model description

This is the Russian 85mm PG-7 (PG-7), a High-Explosive Anti-Tank (HEAT), shoulder-launched, spin and fin-stabilized, Ground-to-Ground Rocket (GGR) incorporating a Point-Initiating Base-Detonating (PIBD) with a Self-Destruct (SD) fuzing system also made in various countries including Bulgaria and Iraq, with the warhead being designated the PG-7 and the rocket system designated the PG-7V, introduced in 1961.

The English-language term Rocket-Propelled-Grenade (RPG), though frequently encountered and reasonably descriptive, is a backronym for the Russian Ruchnoy Protivotankovyy Granatomyot (RPG), meaning Hand-held Anti-tank Grenade Launcher and is not based on a literal translation.

On firing, the flash from the percussion cap ignites a small gunpowder charge in the tail section spindle.

This ignites the propellant strips surrounding the spindle, kicking the rocket out of the launcher and lighting the tracer.

The acceleration is used to initiate the flight motor delay, which ignites the rocket motor after approximately 25m.

On launch, the fuze arming sequence commences.
