Description

Yep, another filament clip. But look at it…loooook at it…it's so cute! Let's be honest, I slapped the clips into the kit card to get them into the competition for visibility, but I will put them up loose eventually as well. I hope you guys like them!

I have had no real success with many clips we've tried. None of the holes seem to be tight enough to actually hold the filament once threaded through the hole and truly keep it from just sliding back out over time. Because that is the purpose of these clips right? I have been starting to think I'm crazy for expecting a snug fit and that there is some deep mystery to the perfect filament clip. So I just made my own!

Shout out to the The Clippadile - https://makerworld.com/en/models/194526#profileId-215030 for the inspiration! It has been the most successful and it helps that it's adorable, but even with that one I had to experiment with the XY hole/contour compensation in the slicer to make it snug enough for my preference.

We use 99% Bambu filament so that is what has been used for experimentation for this. However, there are two hole sizes to choose from since I know not every filament brand is equal. The eye hole is the smaller of the two and is my go to- a variety of Bambu filaments (all colours/types) consistently thread in nicely but stay snug enough to keep the filament in place. The clip itself fits tightly and stays firmly on the spool as well.

There are two print profiles. The “kit card” part is 0.6mm thin and if you are impatient with your prints like me, taking it off the plate will probably make it wonky. But really, the stuffs getting cut off and thrown out so no big deal.

The one with with two colours is mostly for fun: there is a filament change in it to go from the blue to yellow to get the water/ducky combo.

The other is one colour. Simple stuff.
