3D model description

The 1/16 AHHQ kits of the M10 and M10 17pdr omit the stowed Sten SMGs which were carried on the interior of the turret upper walls of British and Commonwealth versions . Although there are .stl files for the Sten available, when carried in these locations the weapons had their magazine housings rotated 90 degrees to allow them to fit into the clips. This design is drawn from a preserved example. Alternative files with the T-shaped and skeleton butt are provided.
Resin printing permits greater detail than injection mouding so I have endeavoured to include whatever is possible, including the catch for the magazine housing, which changes position when the housing is rotated as there is only a locating hole to engage it in the firing position.
Designed at full size, so reduce to 6.25% for 1/16 and 2.86% for 1/35. The skeleton butt is prone to failure when the part is prototypical so a solid bar is used for the 1/35 file of that version, which prints fine.

3D printing settings

Print with the receiver angled upwards slightly (c.20deg is fine) as the photographs show.
