The Pichet Espagnol (Spanish Pitcher) is a famous ceramic pitcher designed by Pablo Picasso in 1954. It is a whimsical and playful design, made of white earthenware clay and decorated with engobes (colored slips) and knife engravings. The pitcher takes the form of a creature that is both human and bird-like, with a face on one side and blue circles on the sides that resemble wings.

The Pichet Espagnol was part of a larger exploration of ceramics that Picasso undertook in the later years of his career. He worked with the Madoura pottery studio in Vallauris, France, from 1946 until his death in 1973. During this time, he created a wide variety of ceramic pieces, including plates, vases, and pitchers. The Pichet Espagnol is one of his most famous and beloved ceramic designs.

The pitcher was produced in an edition of 300, and each piece is inscribed with "Edition Picasso" and "Madoura" on the underside. Today, the Pichet Espagnol is a valuable collectors item.
