Description

This mini X1-Carbon is a 1:10 replica of the real printer. I tried too make it as close to reality but some pieces are not at real scale. It is a difficult print, so make sure that your bed is clean before you print it. You will nead about 35g of grey filament, 1.7g of red filament, 3g of transparent (natural filament) and 7.7g of black filament. The transparent filament is sliced as white so when you will print the model, be sure to select the right AMS slot for it.

What is needed :

1x kit card

1x cutting pliers or scalpel

1x super glue (I used hot glue but I assume that super glue would be much better with the small pieces)

Here are the instructions to build the miniature (you can also look at the exploded view) :

  1. Snap of all the parts from the kit card

2. Remove the support on the back plate (in red)

3. Take the plate with three holes in it, the three small rods and the three small tubes. Notice that the holes have a small line and that the circle is a bit flat. You will need to put the flat part of the rods on the flat part of the holes. Then, put a small amount of glue on one rod and insert it in a hole on the plate. You can see a reference on one of the picture. Repeat this step 2 more times.

4. You can put the cylinders on the threes rods like this :

5. Put the bed on the cylinders.

6. Remove the little line of plastic that has been printed on the door hole. It should look round. You can next put the door handle. It was quite hard to push it by hand so I placed it on my table and pushed down the door on it. Be careful when doing this step, the window can pop of. Make contact with one finger on this region (the hole in the window) when pushing the door against the handle.

7. You can now put the screen on the door. Put glue on the two pins off the screen and insert it in the two remaining holes on the door. Here is an image for the position of the screen. It should face up.

8. Take the two longer rods. Put glue on one extremity and insert both rods in a side panel. The panels are almost identical so you can place them in the order you want. Next slide the tool head in the rods and make sure that the fan (black circle) is facing upfront. The front is at your right when you read “Bambu Lab” on the side panel. Put glue on the other end of the rods and insert the other side plate.

9. Put glue on the four side pins of the plate with the bed as shown in the picture below. Put the two side plates on these pins.

10. Put glue on the two back pins of the plate with the bed (the only two showed in the picture higher). Place the back plate on the two glued pins and then snap it into place. Sometimes you need to force a bit to move the two side plates and leave place for the back plate.

11. You can now put the front panel. DO NO GLUE IT you might want to remove it and see what is inside.

12. Put the top plate.

Thats it!

Enjoy
