3D model description

Din Grogu, known to many simply as "the Child", was a Jedi Initiate and Force-sensitive Mandalorian founder who belonged to the same species as Jedi Grand Master Yoda and Jedi Master Yaddle. Grogu was born around 41 BBY, and was raised in the Jedi Temple on Coruscant.

Grogu was kept in a hideout operated by Nikto mercenaries on Arvala-7 during the New Republic Era, having survived the siege of the Jedi Temple decades earlier. While still an infant at the age of fifty, he was sought, at the request of Moff Gideon, by an Imperial who hired a Mandalorian bounty hunter named Din Djarin to recover him.

However, Djarin chose not to leave Grogu with the Imperials and rescued him from the Imperial Remnant safe house. After attempting to hide with Grogu along the edge of the galaxy, Djarin returned to deal with the Imperials who were searching for Grogu, hoping to keep him safe. In the process, Grogu became a Mandalorian foundling and the only other member of Djarin's newly created clan. As a result, Djarin set out on a new mission: deliver Grogu to the Jedi.

Djarin, along with Grogu, would travel across the galaxy, searching for any remaining Jedi. As advised by former Jedi Ahsoka Tano, Djarin would eventually travel with Grogu to Tython, where he would contact through the Force to find another member of his kind. However, Grogu was captured by Gideon's Imperial forces, and Djarin was forced to lead a mission to rescue him. After reuniting with Grogu, Djarin handed him over to Luke Skywalker, a Jedi who agreed to take the boy into his care and train him in the ways of the Force.

Grogu spent a relatively short period of time training with Skywalker on a green planet, where Skywalker was building a Jedi Academy. However, Skywalker felt that the boy's heart was not in learning the way of the Jedi. After Djarin visited the planet bringing a gift of mail armor for Grogu, Skywalker presented him with a choice: accept the gift and return to the Mandalorian or take Yoda's lightsaber and continue his Jedi training. Grogu chose to return to Djarin and met him on Tatooine in the middle of a gang war between the forces of Boba Fett, whom Djarin was helping, and the Pyke Syndicate.
