3D model description

Detailed model heavily inspired by the legendary Mahlkönig E43 grinder, which is a must-have in any modern café that prides itself on quality coffee.

This is the first model in a series of realistic desk toys that are suitable for display. I like cafes and professional kitchens, and this is the direction the model series will take… but not only this :)
The espresso machine will naturally follow as the next model in the series. And it will also be inspired by a legend...

The model is printed with a 0.2 layer height, but you can use a 0.1 layer for more detailed look. It's designed to not need glue (which you can of course use to make the model hold together really well, or if some parts don't fit exactly), so the tolerances are very small. Check your printer's calibration beforehand. If any parts won't snap in, take your time or heat them up slightly. For slicing the body of the grinder use a classic wall generator in Prusa Slicer, you will get better results this way.

Print with PLA. The colours needed are: black, red, silver, green (this is only used for one button - you can print it with another colour and paint it with a permanent marker) and the colour for the body of the grinder. In our case white as shown on photos, but you can use any colour you want. For the top tray for the coffee beans it is ideal to use transparent filament. But it's not necessary, for example white looks good too. You need to print the top coffee tray using vase mode. Silver and black permanent marker can be used as a final touch for the small details of the screws.

Detailed instructions are included with the model.

If you want a model with a power cord, use a thin electrical wire with a black cord. For small parts, a short piece of filament is used (as a switch button for example). Some parts of the model are functional.

In time there will be an update files to other variations of the grinder (new one, small one), but for now I used the older but probably most iconic design as inspiration.

I love models and building them - the goal is to enjoy both printing and building the model. Even though there are a few parts that could be printed using multi-material by colouring the model, I decided to use more parts and print in one colour instead. But I may add edited parts for multicolor printing here in time…
