3D model description

This is a customizable chain conveyor to carry and organize sauce, cans, spices, ect. It can be motorized or manual.

3D printing settings

I finally finished my new Sauce Conveyor! This version include almost all the suggestions i had on my first model;

-Different caddy sizes,

-Option to use a motor,

-Option to make it smaller,

-Option to make a handle,

-Optimized to reduce filament use and minimal support required

I also added some of my own ideas like adding an optional automatic distribution mode, a manual knob and more.

There's 3 different tracks models and 2 chain sizes. V1 and V2 uses the same size chain, but V1 can use bigger caddies. V1.25 uses the 1.25 chain, and can take even bigger caddies. There's a carry handle option for V1 and V2 but not for V1.25. There's also many different sizes for the middles, and you can also make it without middle sections to make it smaller.

The smallest model (V1 no middles) uses about 500g of filament.

The motor version will cost you about 60$ in material, and the manual one about 12$.

The caddys goes from 42mm to 68mm for round, and 44 and 52mm for square. If you have a special request you can send me the dimension up to 68mm and I'll try to make it work.

Track choice information:

The 3 different tracks allow for different caddies sizes, and the different middles for each let you add more caddies and add the length indicated to the conveyor. . The middle section are not necessary for any of the tracks. The middles could also be added together to make an extra long conveyor.

The track you use should be determined by the size of caddies you need.

-V1 track can take up to 55mm cups round or square. This version without middle tracks is 8 caddies, and with the biggest caddies it's 34cm long, and 19cm wide.

-V2 track can take up to 48mm cups round only. You could also fit bigger ones by alternating them with smaller ones. This version without middle tracks is 10 caddies, and with the biggest caddies it's 44cm long, and 19cm wide.

-V1.25 can take up to 68mm (can size). I have not made a square model but it could be possible. This version without middle tracks is 8 caddies, and with the biggest caddies it's 40cm long, and 22cm wide.

Carry Handle:

-4 to 8 M3 screws 10 to 25mm

Manual knob version only require the bearings.

Printing Information:

Most of the the parts needed don't require support, but some do. The chain cups and clips and the have some bridging at the top, but with around 100 I've printed without support, i had no failure. I also printed all of my chain parts without brim with very rare wrapping. All the parts should be in the right orientation when you open them. I also made 3 different tolerances for the chain plate, having a tight fit will make it easier to assemble but even if its lose or tight, it should work fine once assemble. However, the clips holding the track together must be tight for it to work. You may have to use glue if they're not.

Printer settings (that I used):

Assembly information:

This model is supposed to be assembled without glue (except for the motor shaft), but if you find that the clips holding the track together are loses, you might need some for these parts only. Assembly takes about 30 minutes without wiring.

Assembly is done from bottom to top, stage by stage.

Stage 1 is the bottom track; assemble 2 round_bottom and a track_bottom (optional) with 6 (or 3) clips_bottom. Insert 2 bearings in the holes and your 2 gear_bottom with the half shaft up.

Stage 2 is the cup chain; the chain must be assemble with the chain_plates all on the bottom, with the guides at the back of the chain like the ones on the cups. Assemble your chain completely without tying the ends, then slide it in the bottom track by making it go around it.

Stage 3 is the middle track; assembly is the same as the bottom track, but with the middles clips and 4 bearings. Once assembled, slide it on the posts of the bottom track, the gears and the guides of the chain. If you have difficulty with the chain guides rotate the chain it should fall into place with a little bit of force. The chain should spin without much resistance in both direction. if not, check if the track is clipped at the same level. You can then install the top wheels.

Stage 4 is the clip chain; Same assembly as the cup chain, but pay attention if you choose to do different sizes of cups on the same chain to keep the same pattern on the clip chain. Also pay attention while sliding it on to be aligned with the bottom chain. the clip chain can also go upside down if you have smaller containers.

Stage 5 is the top track: same as the bottom and middle, but you have to screw the motor and microswitch on it. You have to put a little bit of CA glue on the top gear hole where the shaft goes, so the force a distributed all around it.

Stage 6 is the handle; slide your handle_rails from the bottom of the assembly, and lock them in the slots. then screw in your handle with the round part facing down.

Conclusion:
Thank you for your interest in my model, this was a lot of work and I really hope you will enjoy this build, I look forward to see your makes. This project as been done thanks to the overwhelming support I received on my first model that i shared on reddit. It motivated me to refine the model and try to include all the ideas and suggestions I received. I'm still new to 3d printing and this I learned so much about modeling in this project, I'm excited for the future!

PS: I really wanted to publish it for free but the project became too big and I would like to justify the 60+ hours of design and 5kg of filament it took me to complete this project. If you want to sell this model please contact me. Thanks again for your support.

Also My first model is still available for free: https://www.printables.com/model/732651-sauce-conveyor
