3D model description

This sword was heavily inspired by Rhindon, High King Peter's sword in the Chronicles of Narnia, given to him by Father Christmas. Unlike the books, this sword does not have fancy engraving on the blade, and unlike the movies, it does not say "When Aslan bares his teeth, winter meets its death." If you want to use this as a replica of Rhindon, you can paint that on afterward. Otherwise, this is just a beautiful fantasy sword with a lion-head pommel that could be used in many scenarios and would probably be wielded by a king or someone of great importance.

Due to the way this sword is designed to be printed, and because it does not have metal rods in it, it is not very strong and would probably not hold up very well in a cosplay scenario. It would however make a stunning wall hanger.

The default size for this print is approximately 44 inches(112cm) long and 8 inches(20cm) wide on the crossguard. The blade is roughly 34 1/2 inches(87.5cm) long when fully assembled.

3D printing settings

The sword was designed to be printed without supports except in the lion's mouth, and the piece labeled "handle_main_red." To avoid supports on the handle you may use the cut tool in Prusa Slicer or any other software to split it down the middle and then print both sides separately. Because both sides are held in place by other pieces, it doesn't hurt them structurally to be printed this alternative way. Also, depending on your printer's overhang capabilities, you might want to do the same to "handle_secondary_red," as it also has slight overhangs where the gold clips in.

There are different tolerance variants available for all the files. Depending on your printer's capabilities and/or if you want to scale up or down the original files, all the files are available at 0.1mm, 0.2mm, 0.3mm, and 0.4mm tolerance. For example, I printed the handle with the 0.2 mm tolerance and the blade with the 0.1 mm tolerance to make sure that everything fits perfectly with my printer and its settings.

Printer requirements: the tallest piece is 190mm, and the crossguard is 200mm wide, so the minimum print area is 190mm high and 200mm wide.
