Gear Shift Knob Slim for BMW

Hi Everyone,

I have designed this ribbed gear knob originally for my BMW E36, as my original one fell apart, and i wanted something more ergonomic, so I thought best to design one I can print and change easily.

This gear shift knob will fit on most if not all BMW's, new or old. As BMW uses the same clip in style gear shift knobs throughout their vehicles. Below is a short list of cars this will work on:

You can see as well in the wire frame the clips at the bottom of the gear knob and the horizontal tab at the top. If you want to be sure just remove your gear shift knob and check that it has the clips at the bottom and the horizontal slit up top, then you are good to go.

I would suggest to print this with decent wall count and infill, and almost any material is possible. The purple one in the picture is in PLA and has survived for many years in the African sun, with minimal warping on the top where you can make out the infill pattern. Though for my next one I will be printing it out of PETG, so that there will be no warping and have a nice gloss texture. Vapor smoothed ABS would look best but to each their own.

4 walls, 40% infill. Can be printed in PLA, but would suggest a higher temp plastic such as PETG or ABS as aesthetically the PLA can warp
