Description
This wheel has broken several times in our dish washer's upper basket. You CAN buy them but now you can also print them!
I printed in ASA with 0.16 mm layer height, 3 walls and 100% infill.
Whatever material you choose, it needs to be resistant against the heat and chemicals present in your dishwasher (PLA+/ PETG have not lastet through multiple 55° C runs without deformation).
I beefed up the bracket because that's the part that always broke. When you consider my model for your dishwasher, don't let the thicker walls of the bracket deter you. It's the diameter that counts!
Edit 29.01.2024: After having printed Version 1 in ASA with a couple of samples breaking at the bracket during installation, I beefed it up even more while modifying other variables in order for the bracket not having to flex as much. I recommend you go for the 0.25 mm tolerance version as it wiggles less which makes for a smoother operation. Only switch to 0.3 mm if your printer fuses the two wheel parts. EDIT 13.02.2024: Decreased the center bore diameter for a more snug fit which also reduces wiggling. |
