3D model description

This was designed and printed for local ambulance crew to use for hanging their radios to the interior walls of their trucks. It's solidly constructed, maybe overly so, but is designed to handle rough treatment.

Their setup had a lapel mic attached so the radio and charger base needed to be brought out from the wall to allow the mic mount point to clear the shelf.

Three bolt holes are included for mounting which will ensure a solid connection to whatever wall surface you're using. With the four rubber bumper feet removed, the charger base slides snugly into its cradle and the Motorola logo pops into place in the cutout to help keep the charger secured.

Once the charger is loaded and the radio is inserted then a 1/8" elastic cord can be run across the top of the radio from the hard point on one side to the hook on the other. This not only keeps downward pressure on the radio to ensure it doesn't bounce out with rough driving but also guarantees the hardware won't slide out of the cradle.

3D printing settings

Only printed with FDM so far but probably fine with resin.
25% infill density
3 wall loops
Print in the orientation shown for the least amount of supports and none touching the model.
Tree (auto) is preferred support.

Note that I updated the CAD design to eliminate supports between the charger cradle and the vertical piece in contact with the wall. This is purely aesthetic and does very little by way of supporting the charger/radio combo. All the weight is on the bottom shelf supports. This is the reason for the model pics not matching the slicer pics. The STL file matches the slicer pictures.

For peace of mind, I manually add a couple of 2mm "paint your own" supports on the back of the model so there's no chance of the weight of it separating it from the bed.

If you need different screw locations or a design for a different DP series radio charger base let me know.
