Overview:
Reverse-engineered by and later built upon the Word of Blake Yurei chassis, the Panther Land Air Mech was the first practical attempt by the Draconis Combine to replicate the Word of Blake's spectral series transformable mechs. The Luthien Armor Works main plant on Luthien spent eighteen months in the research and development cycle to produce one prototype, one test unit and five field test units.

Capabilities:
Weighing in a full five tons heavier than its namesake, The LAM version retains the Lord's Light 2 ERPPC of the PNT-10K, though mounts a Streak SRM-4 instead of the Artemis-guided SRM launcher.

The Panther LAM uses the same eight tons of Durallex Divine Protector used on the Yurei. Five standard jump jets are placed in the rear torso in the same position as the Yurei since LAW was using the same balance and movement data as the Blake unit during R&D. In mech mode they boost the forty ton mech a full 150 meters. Along with its top running speed of 86kph, the jets do make up for the mech's lack of land mobility the same as its predecessor.

Though relatively inexpensive to manufacture on paper, a few things are keeping the Panther LAM from entering full production. The LAM conversion system uses dedicated hydraulic and myomer-driven actuators; FAR more than those of a normal mech. LAW is still trying to budget a dedicated facility to build these conversion units, but the manufacturing bottleneck is preventing the LAW executive board from allocating the necessary funds. Projections show at least two decades before the LAM would result in enough profitability for a return on investing in the new facility.

Deployment: All five field prototypes have been sent to serve with the Newly minted Ninth Sword of Light unit.
