Description

"Swords in Rock," also known as "Sverd i fjell" in Norwegian, is a monumental sculpture located in Stavanger, Norway. Created by Fritz Røed, it commemorates the historic Battle of Hafrsfjord in 872 AD, which unified Norway under a single monarch. The sculpture consists of three massive bronze swords embedded into solid rock, representing the victorious outcome of the battle and the unification of the Norwegian kingdom. It stands as a symbol of national identity and unity, attracting visitors from around the world to admire its impressive craftsmanship and historical significance.
