Happy Mother's Day! Thanks' Mom With Flowers! 10 Colors Any Printer Can Make With Z Hop!

Happy Mother's Day everyone! Here is my #MOTHERSCULTS entry. Thanks Mom! with Framed Flowers! This is a 10 color print using Z Hop so any 3D printer can create this! Included are the sliced files as STL and Gcodes centered on the bed. The print is about 16cm x 15cm so fits most every printer. Ended up with three versions of this print. 1) Thanks Mom! 2) Mom! With a heart for the O and a 3) similar design as #2 but also with a vase for the flowers... As well as a frame which the print slides into and can be mounted to a wall. The frame has a support included to make the slot. Everything is under 18cm x 18cm. Included the #3 Vase version setup for Bambu, will do the other two if anyone wants it, just message me.

This print uses Z Hop, or Vertical Lift, which raises the nozzle when retracting the filament . When crossing any printed areas the printer does a retract and lifts the nozzle so it won't collide with the existing print. Using Z Hop you end up with a perfectly flat bottom layer, or top layer. However, only doing the bottom layer with Z Hop will produce an extremely flat multicolor surface. It works on top layers, but will be less flat with some area imperfections. It is also possible to do a Z Hop color change in the middle of prints....

This is a Bottom or 1st Layer Z Hop print using a total of ten (10) colors, The files are numbered 1 to 11 since the 1st color is used at the end as well to finish the piece. The files have my color scheme in the name so you can choose to use any colors for the various parts. Anything in white will print from the white files etc. My GCodes have automatic color change commands imbedded in the end scripts. As each file 1-10 finish the filament will eject and wait for you to put a new color into the extruder and hit the button again. If you take a long time the nozzle will cool down and the button will only heat the nozzle, you will need to push it once again after reaching printing temperature. There are some beeps to alert you when it is time to change the filament. It takes about 90 minutes for the #1 file to print, then the color prints 2-10 are fairly short prints between two and fifteen minutes each. The #11 or last file takes about three hours.

The print is designed for 0.3mm layers and 1st layer height modifier should be 100%. I also set 1st layer width to 90% to improve the outer perimeter accuracy. Using S3D slicer.

There are three Z Hop versions that I use: First Layer, Middle Layer and Last Layer.
1st has just a standard 0.2mm Z Hop and a change filament command at the end with a shirt line to start.
2nd has a 0.8mm Z Hop to hop over the 0.6mm double layers and a change filament command at the end. No skirt.
3rd just has the 0.8mm Z Hop and no change filament command. No skirt.

I've left a small piece of the initial layer empty and have it as part of the last print to speed up the print. So don't panic if you notice the small gap. It pulled up once and prints better this way.
