3D model description

I developed this low cost 3D scanner and it's desktop application to be able to use my personal computer and cameras connected via USB to take pictures of objects up to 360 degrees and then use Meshroom or 3DF Zephyr to generate the 3d model. You can use webcams, smartphones and DSLR cameras. :D

I used my smartphone with a software called Iriun Webcam (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.jacksoftw.webcam&hl=en).
If your phone is android 14 or newer you can just select "Webcam" when you connect via USB to the PC.

As for parts list, besides the 3D printed parts, you only need:
- 28BYJ-48 Stepper Motor
- ULN2003A Stepper Driver
- A small 170 holes breadboard
- 330 Ohm resistor
- Small Buzzer
- 5V 2A Power supply (I used an old charger for an Android TV Box)
- Arduino Uno

This creation includes:
3D printed Parts:
- Box
- Box Cover
- 3 different model bases to place the rotating object

Software:
- 3D Scanner Application
- Arduino code

Regarding the software:
It's very easy to setup:
1 - Connect Arduino and Cameras to PC

2 - Open the software

3 - On the arduino settings, input the Serial port connection details

4 - Select how many cameras you wish to use

5 - Select the number of pictures (the software automatically calculates the rotation angle for the amount of pictures specified, eg. 360 pictures equals 1 degree motor rotation per picture - 4 pictures equals 90 degree motor rotation per picture)

6 - Select the destination folder for the pictures

7 - Press Start

When the process ends, if you navigate to the output folder, you will see that the software created one subfolder per camera and inside you will find the pictures that the software took.

Afterwards, you can import the pictures to your favorite photogrammetry software and generate the 3D model! :D
