Description

V2 Now Available! https://makerworld.com/en/models/412624#profileId-314579

Introducing the Q-tip shooter! Simply load a one-sided Q-tip, pull back the spring, pull the trigger, and launch. Thank you to ThisFact for the inspiration from their toothpick shooter. However, this is not a remix of that model, it is my own design.

Note: If you choose, you can light the end of the Q-tip on fire for added style. However, please use with extreme caution and only use outdoors away from people and flammable objects.

I made a remix with what I feel are some improvements to reliability and usability. But the design is designated no derivatives or remixes. It solves some of the trigger sticking and cracking issues mentioned by others. Do you want me to send you a copy for review? I won't share it due to the nature of the current license. But I figured if you had planned to release a V2 it might have some features you would want to review.

Hey! I would love to see a copy! Thank you so much for doing that. If I do end using some of the features you revised in V2, would you like me to give you some credit in the profile? I greatly appreciate the support and courtesy, I am a hs student and am pretty new to Makerworld so I am eager to learn from experienced designers. Thanks!

print was ok. Design needs some rework. the release pin needs more room to get triggered. Oh well... printed in BAMBU Lab PLA and nothing brakes at all!

it works, but I used prose petG so it doesn’t look very nice

It doesn't work. Too stiff and almost breaks when loaded, when pulling the trigger it doesn't release. Printed it on A1 mini with your profile for PLA.

Hello! I'm really sorry to hear that. I will probably have to test with more brands of filament to get a more consistent design. I used Bambu basic PLA when I printed it, but what type of filament did you use?

Hi! I used a generic PLA which I've had very good results with on other prints. Maybe mine is stiffer?

That is definitely possible. I have found that flexibility of PLA can vary a bit between companies, which can change the effectiveness of compliant prints like this. Thank you once again for your candid review, and I hope to come up with a solution soon!

trigger hard to press with finger. too small

The trigger mechanism fails after a couple of shots and just creates accidental discharges within seconds of loading due to the tension pushing it downward.

doesn’t work for me as well. PLA version just cracked on loading. PETG not cracked, but fire button unable to press by one finger

I am sorry to hear that as well. I used Bambu basic PLA which worked for me, but I will have to test more brands to get a more consistent design. I will also try to make a profile for PETG once I can acquire some!
