3D model description

If ever your toilet or sink releases odor or you hear "glu glu", you need it for sure.

Some time ago a plumber friend showed me what the problem was and how to solve it, in return I made the design and gave him some tests, after several versions, we have reached this last one that works very efficiently and solves some drawbacks of those that you could acquire, including allowing you to adjust it to the pipe and specific problem in your installation.

The regulation is made by means of a small weight that you will be able to vary in the membrane. In the center it has a hole, in which you can thread a screw with M3*8 or M3*12 head, if you need more weight you incorporate nuts to the stem.

It is an extremely safe and simple system, since springs that deteriorate over time are avoided. The tightness of the valve requires a 13x24 flat comma gasket with a thickness between 1 and 2.5mm, you can buy a small box in any plumbing store of 10 for 1€. The valve is for 40mm pipes and you can use it in others with adapters.

What is the odor problem:

The pipes prevent the passage of odors by means of siphons or elbows. A minimum water height of 5cm is recommended, but the passage of water through pipes in the network causes moving air bubbles to be created, which displace the water and in the absorption movement create a vacuum that subtracts water from the siphon, allowing air to pass through from that moment on.

The valve that I share, maintains the tightness in the pressure movement and allows the absorption of external air to the opposite movement, counteracting the absorption and thus avoiding the loss of water from the siphon.

The printing of the model does not require supports, it is simple and economical. I share several versions, because each basin, sink or shower outlet is different and so there are more options (check my profile). I have larger versions available for toilets, and I can tell you that my friend the plumber, has bought a 3D just to print them. Installation is very simple and quick, it should be before the siphon.

Likewise, I share other drain parts that can make the installation easier for you, check in my profile.

This kit consists of the following parts:

4 Valve bodies 40mm, with heights 30, 50, 70 and 90mm.

1 gasket fixing

1 Threaded top cover

1 Lower nut (Valve thread is standard, any other 40mm fitting will also fit)

3D printing settings

No brackets required

Print at 0.12 layer height with 4 perimeters, density not less than 40%.
