I just wound the EL wire up and down both sides until all the rail was covered. To paint the rails I just covered up the black parts with painters tape and used silver spray paint to paint the center. The fit for the wire might be a little tight but I found if you remove the clip on the back and file out some of the holes it fits nicely. Finally, I used a bolt for the stock adjustment.
