3D model description

Introducing our first RedCat Ascent Fusion upgrade the - Crawler Pro Sliders. These sliders solve a lot of the issues we’ve seen owners and reviews comment on. Our Ascent Fusion Crawler Pro Sliders include an improved battery mounting method, built-in splash proof receiver case and a spot to put the HobbyWing 2-in-1 power switch. Our Crawler Pro Sliders also get rid of that “extra” trailing bit slider from the back of the truck body.

Features:

Length Wide Battery Strap: The biggest issue out of the box for the RedCat Ascent Fusion is the battery mount; batteries fall out and are never seen again. Our through-the-slider method allows the battery strap to hold the battery securely so it can’t slide out.

Receiver Box: Your stock RedCat Ascent Fusion receiver or a full size receiver gets a new home. It goes into a splash proof (not waterproof, sorry, maybe later) case that makes sure it is protected from mud and other crawling hazards. There’s also two extra zip-tie anchors on the inside of the receiver box to neatly tie up your wires to keep them away from moving drive-shafts or the like.

Power Switch: The Fusion’s HobbyWing 2-in-1 power switch also gets a new home; a simple press-in place mounting (with release hole) allows you to keep the power switch accessible and still out of the way of crawling hazards.

"Stock" - Receiver Box (inner dimensions):
34mm x 21mm x 30mm (LxWxH)

"Full" - Receiver Box (inner dimensions):
39mm x 25mm x 30mm (LxWxH)

Measurements are approximate, add 1mm or 2mm to be safe for tight fits.

Hardware: Each Crawler Pro Slider set needs 2 x M3x10mm and 2x M2 x 8mm screws, along with about 20mm of 10mm (wide) by 5mm (tall) sealing foam. See https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08LCVW98V/ for what we used.

Notes: For 3S batteries with a length less than 69mm the stock strap will fit. We recommend 300mm straps for those running larger 3S batteries.

3D printing settings

Print as supplied and see our sliced example as well. You’ll want to support both mounting stubs, the middle of the receiver box (or more, depending on cooling). The main lid is printed standing up, with supports of the top and centre overhangs. The upper lid just needs the screw indents supported.
