Description

This is a simple brooch piece I created in two variations, with the intent of painting/decorating/applying gems to it to make a custom brooch.  It is inspired by this 7th-century Frankish brooch at the Metropolitan Museum of Art:

The two variations include one “with gems,” and one with empty spaces you can glue gems into. You will need to attach a pin back of your choice.

In the pictures, the copper one is painted with copper paint from Stuart Semple's Heavy Metal paint kit, and the “gems” are actually nail polish. :) If I had gold leaf and some actual gemstones around I could make it look relatively authentic! :D  The “metalwork” on the copper brooch is actually jump rings glued on and painted over! You work with what you have! :D

The yellow one shows you the plain version and how you might attach gems to it.

Please be aware that the default size of the brooch is large; double-check that it's the size you want before printing!
