Description

Are you tired of the plastic waste made by 3D Printing? Welcome to my new project: ReMeltables!

ReMeltables is an initiative meant to make recycling the plastic waste made from 3d printing easy, repurposing any type of waste, including failed prints, supports, skirts, purge towers and filament change residuals. Hit print, pause, add plastic, iron the plastic and you got yourself a new wall art!

If anyone wishes to make their own design, here is a link to the project itself.

The model is already in the correct orientation for printing. In order to print this model, you need to add a pause in your slicer. In order to be able to add the used plastic inside the model. The two main moments before you can do so are: right before your printer starts printing the tiny legs that support the roof*, or right after if finishes them. If you choose the former, you need to raise your z hop enough so that the nozzle won't catch your recycled plastic. If you choose the latter, you will need to be careful when ironing your recycled plastic, as you can possibly melt the top surface of those legs (Like I did😔).

DO NOT FORGET TO ADD A SHEET OF BAKING PAPER ON TOP OF YOUR PLASTIC!!!!! Not adding one may permanently damage your iron and render it unusable.

*printing the legs and the roof is completely optional. The roof is a bridge with anchors far from one another and will give a slicer error, but it does print with decent quality, if thick enough(number of layers depend on the printer);
