3D model description

Type: Shadow Wolf SDW-12
Technology Base: Inner Sphere
Tonnage: 20
Battle Value: 501
Cost: 2,644,740 C-Bills
Introduction: 3068

Overview
The Shadow Wolf started out life as a planned stealth
BattleMech for the AFFS although these plans were disrupted first by an invasion of Errai by the Draconis Combine, followed by the Word of Blake conquering the world at the start of their Jihad. Regardless of Maltex’s factory changing hands several times, production of the Shadow Wolf nevertheless continued throughout the Jihad and even into the Dark Age.

Capabilities
The Stealth Armor, powered by a Guardian ECM system, allowed
the Shadow Wolf to sneak up on unassuming enemies and launch an attack before they had time to react. Three Small Lasers and two Streak SRM 2s provided a bigger punch than most would expect from such a small ‘Mech. If this weren’t enough of a surprise for hostiles, the TAG laser that could mark them for artillery fire was certainly an even bigger shock.

Deployment
The first run of Shadow Wolves entered service as planned with
the AFFS but following the Combine overrunning the factory in late
3068 they began using it themselves. Like the Federated Suns before them, they only managed to churn out a few before the Word of Blake arrived the very next year, taking the plant for themselves. After that, they added the ‘Mech to their own forces. Following the Jihad, the world became part of the Republic of the Sphere and Maltex continued to produce the design for this new alliance.
