Description

Quick and Easy way to check magnet polarity. 2 Button Style Magnet bodies that “snap” together. Can be taken apart to assist in magnet placement as well, keeping your magnets in the right orientation when building your models!

Please take 2 minutes to read this description for best results, and a simple way to check the polarity of your magnets BEFORE inserting them into their “bodies”

This Model uses (2) 10x3mm Neodymium Magnets

If requested, I can add other magnet sizes as needed.

The print profile uses “Print by Object” to keep the printer from changing filaments every layer. Either keep this, or print each part by itself unless you prefer wasted time and filament!

On the Bambu Handy App, you can change the Blue (North Body; South Text) and White (North Text; South Body) to get the color scheme you want.

If printing from Bambu Studio, in the Objects tab (Under Process, next to Global) you will see the North Side and South Side, each with a “Body” and "Text" - You can set your colors there, making sure to keep them opposite of one another. OR just change the filament when you go to print plate.

The 10x3mm Magnets are PRESS FIT, meaning you will not get the magnets seated with just your fingers, you will need assistance! I use an Irwin Quick Clamp for woodworking to get them seated. This way needs no glue and they wont come out!

POLARITY TEST

To check the magnet polarity of your magnets, suspend them in the air and see which way they face. (The North Pole of your magnet will face North as it is North “Seeking” - South will face…. South!)

Find out which way is North/South where you are. Take a piece of dental floss (or thread / light string) and your (2) 10x3mm magnets and let them hang in the air. You will see that they will start to face one direction. You can slowly walk around and you will see that they do their best to face the direction they “seek” - again, the North pole of the magnet will face North. Put this into the North Side of the button.

I recommend leaving the dental floss in place while pressing the magnets as a pair into their “bodies” and making sure you orient them correctly before really pressing them in.

Thanks for taking the time to read this, and if you have any suggestions, or see any errors in my post, etc. please do let me know! This is my first upload, so trying to make sure it is as complete as can be!
