Description

I've been a fan of the Destiny series of games for a long time and decided to recreate the Ghost as a small project. I adapted the size of the model so that a LED tea light could be inserted. I opted for a colored light, another option would have been to cut a panel in the matching color and use a neutral light.

To the photo:

01: Ball parts front and rear (rear contains a thread)

02: Wing

03: Wing with a mount for the black inserts

04: Dowels as connectors for the individual parts

05: Back cover

06: Eye

07: LED tea light

08: Inserts

09: Tip

10: Diffuser

Parts printed in black: 01, 04, 05, 06, 08

Parts printed in white: 02, 03, 09, 10

I then painted part 10 with orange acrylic paint.

Assembly instructions:

  1. Step: Insert the inserts 08 into the matching wings 03
  2. Step: Press the tips 09 into the matching wings 02
  3. Step: First press the eye 06 then the diffuser 10 into the front ball part 01. Then press the dowels 04 into the matching holes. Now insert the LED tea light 07 into the hemisphere and press on the rear spherical part 01 until the two halves lie on top of each other.
  4. Step: Press the remaining dowels 04 into the outer holes of the ball and place the wings 02, 03 on top.
  5. Step: Screw in the cover 05.

All parts that hold together should be pressed together, if this is not the case use a little bit of superglue or try some sandpaper to make it fit. I hope that you guys like my design and i appreciate every downlod.

!!! Thank YOU :) !!!

What's the best way to print the wing insert? and get it to lay on the build plate?

This seems to be "borrowed" from thingiverse, just adding the pegs to replace the magnets and scaling it up a good bit. Otherwise this model works in exactly the same way. I could be wrong, but posting in case I am not. https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:527736

I understand your distrust, but I can assure you that I designed every component myself. Furthermore, I don't think I have to say that I haven't invented anything new with this model and that similar models will therefore look similar.
