This model is from my self-made slide projector. Which I christened the "old box".

The projector consists of a stand, a U-part and the projector which is pushed into the U-part. Together it is a floor-standing slide projector.

History of the original

Not everyone has the idea of building a slide projector. Especially in the late 2000s when digicams and the like are modern.

I figured out how a projector works on my own, without any encyclopaedias or explanations from other people.

This model is my first durable piece. It is made of wood. The three models from before were made of LEGO (2006) or a shoe box (2007).

The projector has a rail where the slides are pushed through horizontally. On the other side the slides fall into a collecting container. A slide pusher is used to move the slides to the correct position. The projector is powered by a fluorescent lamp and is therefore the very first piece I have built that is powered by electricity. The previous models were powered by flashlights.

The projector consists of a stand that I dowelled, a U-part with a running strip on the inside and the projector that is inserted into the U-part. Together it is a floor-standing slide projector that has a good look for a slide projector with its pine wood.

Removing the support structure requires a little patience and dexterity. Depending on the size of the scale, the support must be removed piece by piece.

First remove the object from the print bed with a sharp spatula. Then remove the brim from below. Do not hold the model by the legs but by the edge of the frame or the support structure. These could break off at small scales. The brim must be completely removed until the frame legs are no longer connected to the support structure.

If possible, carefully cut or pull off the supports that have formed laterally above the rungs in the direction of the layer.

Then use a small side cutter or scissors to make individual vertical incisions in the tree support structure from below and then carefully remove the support structure layer by layer.

Once you have almost reached the area under the frame, lever off the rest with a narrow spatula and make sure that the support structure does not push the frame legs to the side, as this could cause something to break off just before the finish.

Post-processing

Remove the pimples on the lower edge of the frame with a half-round key file or a pointed carving knife. Always work with the knife away from the body due to the risk of injury.
