3D model description

Camera slider with stepper motor

Edit: Fixed a mistake made on the sledge

Edit 2: Centered the hole in the sledge. Added 7mm to the feet.

Edit 3: Added the SketchUp-files (created in 2015 version)

TODO: Add something to fix the belt to on the sledge...

3D printing settings

For 8mm rods and LM8UU

  • Print the brackets and two sledges
  • Fettle or drill the 8mm holes.
  • The LM8UU linear bearings is really tight, I did put the sledge (not the whole thing) in boiling water for 10-15 sec and then pressed the bearings into place.
  • Connect the two sledges with two M3 screws
  • Drill a hole for in the center of the sledge and attach a tripod head

  • Optional: add a stepper motor to the motor bracket, a bearing to the other bracket and a belt to automate the slider...
