3D model description

Rear light covers for Robosen's ELITE Optimus Prime transforming robot in truck form, 48 x 12 x 2 mm. As the truck's lights look a bit plain for an otherwise detailed figure, you can use these to give the lights more shape.

Matching headlights can be downloaded for free here

The extra outer frame on these covers give it a cleaner finish, reduce light seeping through at the edges, and make the print easier to remove from the build plate.

When printed accurately, these covers click right into their slots, but since the frame sticks out a little and Robosen's Optimus slides these parts over the floor when transforming, they are best fastened in one of two ways:

  • Using a glue roller on the back of the covers, because that type of glue is easily removable later, or;
  • Transparent tape across the length.

Please note that these are for the Elite Optimus Prime robot, not the Flagship version.

3D printing settings

20cm 1.75 filament, 0.6 grams, 10 minutes print time.

  • 0.4 nozzle
  • layer height 0.2
  • line width 0.46
  • brim recommended to prevent curling
  • No ironing, it would mess up the frame lines
