Wolverine, X-MEN

Wolverine, whose birth name is James Howlett (also known as James Logan or simply Logan),3 is a fictional superhero and antihero appearing in comic books published by Marvel Comics, primarily in association with the X-Men. He is a mutant who possesses animal-tuned senses, enhanced physical abilities, powerful regenerative abilities known as a healing factor, and three retractable claws on each hand. Wolverine has been variously depicted as a member of the X-Men, Alpha Flight, X-Force, and The Avengers.

He has acquired different names such as Lobezno in Spain and Glotón, Guepardo, Aguja Dinámica or Emilio Garra in Latin America, where they also use the original alias.456

His first appearance was within the pages of issue 180 of The Incredible Hulk comic book, in October 1974, although his formal presentation was in the following issue due to the scriptwriter's oversight (issue 181, November 1974). In addition, he made frequent guest appearances in other Marvel comics. In the 1980s and 1990s, comics featuring the Wolverine character went on to become the publisher's best sellers.

He has appeared in most of the X-Men media adaptations, including animated television series, video games, and the 20th Century Fox film series in which he is played by Hugh Jackman in nine of the ten films. The character is highly ranked on many top comic book lists, ranking #1 on Wizard Magazine's 2008 Top 200 Comic Book Characters; 4th on Empire's 2008 Greatest Comic Book Characters; and 4th on IGN's Top 100 Comic Book Heroes in 2011.
