3D model description

Heyho :)

This is my Frame press for many different tasks. I personally use it for Tofu or to glue (long) things together in my workshop. Of course I don't mix them up xD

You can use the press with one Frame set or even more. With the boxes you can use 3 of them next to each other or with other projects you can stack as many as you want next to each other.

Food Safety:

FDM Prints will never be really food safe since it has a very rough surface that is hard to clean. So make sure to keep the parts as dry as possible if you don't need them and heat the food up after using the press. All at your own risk, of course ,-) But I had no problems yet.

As an alternative you can use wooden plates that are in contact with the food.

Printing Tipps:

I printed my parts with a 0,6 mm Nozzle and 0,2 mm layer height, 4 Perimeter and 100% Infill.

If you use a 0,4 mm Nozzle use 6 Perimeter for best strength of the frame! The Screw will be fine with 4 Perimeter and 100% Infill.

As Material I used PETG for my Tofu Setup and ASA in the workshop. PLA is not a good choice because it will deform due the long lasting high forces.

FDM Setup:

You can print the whole press. But if you press down sth quite hard the friction between the plastic parts will increase too. To reduce it use some lubricant like paraffin (candle wax).

You can print all Parts

M10 Setup:

If you have some M10 x 60 mm Scres and fitting nuts I would recommend this setup. It has less friction and is very durable :) There are 2 caps/ knobs. One to put on top of the screw and one that will fit from the bottom. I designed the tolerances for the M10 parts quite loose so even people with a bad calibration should get them workin. If you want it tighter scale the parts down a little.

Wooden Setup:

Since the frame is not tied to be used with the boxes you can make your own wooden plates to press things with. I uploaded a .pdf file so you can make your own tofu press :) It is designed for a M10 drill. Make sure you use a sharp one or you get tears out of the wood as I had :D Alternatively you can laser the parts ofc.

Remix Culture:

Since the frame can be used for many purposes I look forward to see some remixes for pressing plates and or boxes :)

Have fun and keep printing!
