3D model description

See the latest 2018 design here

This replaces the design below.

2016/2017 design

The design considerations were:
- To be able to access and remove the Hotend quickly
- Modular, Snap-in design
- Parts like Fan mount, Proximity are all optional
- The E3D must fit tightly
- Support for larger Proximity sensor with sensing range (8mm)
- To be able to attach very popular Cable Chain

Important - Print resolution 0.2mm or better
Infill 80+% - for _part_back, _part_front

Update 2

Front part has been upgraded easier snap-in onto back part.

Some info

Back
Print at 80+% infill. This is required for tight fit of the hotend. See picture.
If you do not want to use the cable chain, then there is back option with a cable hook.

Front and Fan mount for Hotend Cooling
This snaps over the top of the hotend, and keeps it from moving in Y-plane
It can be further secured if needed, with self tapping screw (see picture)

Fan - Part Cooling
optional, but designed for standard 40mm

Proximity
optional, but I found it is easier to use the larger sensor that has an 8mm range. Easier to sense the heatbed if it has a thick layer of Buildtak.
I used the PNP type LJ18a3-z/by

For settings in Marlin Configuration.h
X_PROBE_OFFSET_FROM_EXTRUDER -33
Y_PROBE_OFFSET_FROM_EXTRUDER 0

Cable Chain
The adapter fits the Ultimaker2 Cable Chain, http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:193948
