Description

Introducing the "Jumping Santa Claus" a delightful 3D-printable model inspired by the classic jumping jack toy (German: Hampelmann). This Santa Claus will move its legs and arms when pulling the bar. It can be hung up as an ornament with the pinhole on top. Thanks to an integrated spring it restores the original position.

Get ready to add a touch of festive charm to your space with the "Jumping Santa Claus"!

Assembly

Assembling "Jumping Santa Claus" is a breeze because everything will click together. I had no issues following these steps (also see the assembly guide picture in the gallery):

  1. Begin by placing the front piece on the table, with the backside facing upwards.
  2. Install the limbs by firmly pressing the pins, ensuring they slide in completely.
  3. Attach the rack and click in the pin on the head.
    1. Now define the relative and overall limb orientation.
    2. Decide whether you'd like to prestress the spring.
  4. Complete the assembly by installing the long pin that prevents slipping of the rack.

If a pin feels too loose, a minimal amount of drip-free, gel-like glue can be applied inside the holes. Be cautious not to use excess glue, as it may compromise the necessary clearances for smooth movement.

Printing

I provide a four color AMS print profile. If you want to use less colors (like me) just double assign your colors. E.g. I used black, white, orange as I didn´t have red or beige. Make sure that your print plate is adhesive enough, for the small gear teeth. If you have small quality issues with some teeth it should still work! Just clean out excessive filament from between the teeth with a small knife.
