Description

I did this project last year, I'm a mechanical designer and in this video you can find a whole tutorial on how I made this LightSaber Retractable. https://youtu.be/jiIGRBxh4nA?si=HpKv8rqjqA0J1Pxh

I wanted to make the replica of Luke Skywalker, I live in Venezuela and my resources were a little limited to put a light bulb on it, like this which I solved with PLA Glowing material. And the handle of the saber is made of PLA Silk, thus saving me from having to paint it.

Printed with good quality. I only had to make sure they worked as probably the tolerance was not completely correct.

Printed on ender 3v3se but I can confirm that blade does not work good and I used tape to fill the gap. Fortunately I don't need to use but want to try with another that works. Thanks for sharing but please fix it :)

Models are beautiful and prints well, however as others have said the blade tolerances are super loose and they'll just fly out easily. Added tape to the start of each tube/blade and they stay and extend! Nice. Thank you for the quality model. I found this much easier and simpler to print than other designs, since you made the blades all separate.

have to use tape to secure blades so they don’t fly out

Started printing this, and I got as far as the blade part. Unfortunately, each piece just fits into the next, but will not hold. If you were to flick it, you'd wind up with bits of saber blade on the other side of the room.

In my case it printed well, but sometimes some filaments retract differently when they cool. If it doesn't fit, just heat the base a little and insert a pencil. Just a little, with great care and by deforming the bottom part it could get stuck and work

I couldn’t get this to work. the blades don’t interlock with each other properly they slide passed through each other
