Description

Introduction:

The AMS DECO is a super simple design and print for the sole purpose of pimping out your X1/P1S combos. I wanted to make some custom signs for my printers, but didn't want to stick anything to them. I also wanted to be able to take it apart in under 10 seconds for cleaning and maintenance and make it super easy to swap out signs. You can make anything from Hueforge prints, MakeMySign designs, or custom made STL's in your program of choice.

This model is two pieces, left and right, that fit snugly under the front lip of the AMS to hold a printed sign. When spread out butting up against the inside of the feet it will hold a 250mm wide printed sign. In the attached photo I have used a width of 250mm and a height of 75mm and almost 3mm thickness. You could theoretically go taller, I just didn't want to cut off half of the printed AMS logo on the top right of the front face. The model will hold a print that is slightly over 3mm thick. It may pay to stay close to this thickness in larger prints so you don't get floppy sign syndrome. You can slide the AMS DECO pieces closer together for a smaller print, or even make multiple prints and use multiple AMS DECO's and put something like an array of Pokemon cards across the front, whatever you want really.

Installation:

You may have to slightly lift the AMS to slide the DECO under it but it shouldn't lift it off of the glass. I have tried this with 2 different AMS units and had no issues. The tolerance is super tight to avoid it dislodging due to printer vibration.

Printing:

This is pretty much the stock 0.2 Layer Bambu setting. It worked perfectly on the first try so I didn't bother to tweak anything. I cleaned my plate first and printed without a brim and it went better than expected for a first try, no revisions were necessary. Clean you bed first and make sure you have good adhesion. The same goes for printing large signs, as you don't want the corners coming up on your print.

Please post your makes, as I would love to see what people come up with to pimp out their printers. Also if you download this model help a brother out with a like and a rating. Happy Printing!
