Description

EDIT 15/12: New, improved revision now published :) *** LINK ***

---

A smooth four way splitter for using an AMS, rear spool holder and a dual spool drybox or secondary spool holder together on a Bambu.

Smooth transitions to prevent filament snagging. I haven't had any issues with the AMS using my three way splitter or this one. I printed mine in 0.12mm layer height, which is recommended for this part.

Mine is printed in ASA but other materials should be fine as well. Prints beautifully in 2hrs and only takes around 15g of filament.

Hex shaped magnet pockets for easy installation, small notches also included to help removing the magnets if needed :)

No supports required!

---

BOM:

-printed part

-5pcs 6x3mm magnets

-5pcs PC4-M10 pneumatic fittings (like these, for example)

Assembly:

-insert magnets

-make sure a 4mm bowden tube fits the 4.1mm pocket on each of the five branches, test this before threading on the pneumatic fittings

-thread the pneumatic fittings on (if using PLA don't use excessive force)

-insert splitter on PTFE tube coming from the printhead

-enjoy!

Have fun printing!

Super smooth and works great. With the Bambu AMS Hub currently out of stock, I'm using it to combine the outputs of a couple of AMS's into the single AMS-input that comes stock with the X1CC. So far it is working great - no feed issues and the X1C sees both AMS units and feeds and retracts the filament just fine. Thank you!

Many thanks for the feedback! Glad to see it works with the hub as well :) How well do the magnets stick on the frame at that spot?

Replying to @jusutus :
It works great for that, very nice model and like I mentioned no feeding or pull-back issues. On the sticking, it's not bad. Could be a little better, but it hasn't fallen off yet. I could probably shorten up the "exit" tube so the splitter is a little bit closer to AMS single-entry hub, and it would increase the holding because I think that whole back is steel. Right now, I don't think I have it positioned optimally because of that. But it's working great. And further, the magnetic back makes it super easy to align it for smooth feed path, so it's not in a fixed position with screws or similar. With the magnetic back, one just slides it into the best position and it stays put and is optimal for your setup. I really like it - I was thinking about replacing it with the official hub once they came back into stock in the USA store, but I think I'll just leave it. I've had no issues at all with it.

Not sure if this is what you hand in mind, but it seems to work for my non-AMS compatible filaments to feed from my RepRack setup. (I ran out of PTFE so only have 2 of the 4 connected).

Hello, did you push the PTFE tubes all the way in the adapter? There's only a very short length of plastic in contact with the filament. Also please check that the hole closest to the toolhead is clear from any overextrusion or stringing. My profile is tuned for ASA so it may not work as it is for PLA etc.

Printed in Sunlu Transparent PLA. 1st attempt came loose from the bed (cold plate with glue stick) about halfway through printing. Thank goodness for spaghetti detection! The app alerted me to the problem before too much filament was wasted. I printed it again with a small brim and it came out perfectly. I tried to leave a 5-star review but the website won't let me with out "completed" print. I had to cancel my print at the last step because my AMS couldn't retract the undersized Sunlu spool to unload the filament at the end. Next up - some AMS training wheel for those Sunlu, DO3D and cardboard Inland spools.
