Description

This is a Hueforge filament painting of one of the most iconic characters in movie history, Darth Vader. The frame for all of my, and probably the vast majority of 200x200 prints is HERE.

*

This is a simple 5 color print that can easily be done by people with or without AMS units. If you have an A1 mini or any other printer with a bed smaller than the capacity to print 200x200 you can use the slicer to scale the model in the correct profile for your multi color setup just make sure NOT TO SCALE THE Z dimension. For Bambu Studio: When in the Prepare tab in the slicer click on the model so it is highlighted, then click “Scale” at the top middle of the tools bar. Uncheck “Uniform Scale” then change your dimension of X and Y to equal size values (EX 200x200 to 180x180). This is true for all Hueforge models except non square prints in which case you will need to reduce the values in a ratio in accordance with the aspect ratio of the painting or it will distort, in this case use the “Scale” values instead of the “Size” values in the Scale menu. (EX 200 x 150 to 100 x 75 @ 50% X/Y Scale). I would recommend not scaling smaller than your largest comfortable print area or you will be compressing the same amount of filament into a smaller area and it will probably get muddy, 0.2 Nozzles may mitigate some or all of this problem depending on the model and the size it is scaled down to.

IMPORTANT: READ BEFORE PRINTING

*

I have uploaded three 3MF profiles. One for people with a single AMS, one for people with two AMS units, and one for people with NO AMS.

*

To print with 1 AMS you need to swap out AMS slot [1] (Color [1]) with Color [5] when the black [Color 1] has completed and fully retracted. Once the second color starts printing just load the new spool. Note the AMS will not feed the spool like it does pre print but as long as you have fed 3-4 inches in there and the light goes on it will feed as normal when it swaps back to the last color in AMS [1]

*

To print with 2 AMS units all you need to do is load the colors in order and print.

*

To print with NO AMS unit you just need to do manual filaments swaps every color. The 3MF is set to pause at the correct layer heights. At each pause load the next filament color in order by following your unload/load procedure for your particular printer, then hit resume. Repeat until complete. This will be once per color over the entire painting. You have a decent amount of time between swaps, and is actually harder to mess up because it pauses unlike when using the AMS.

*

Print at 100% infill with a layer height of 0.08mm with a base layer of 0.16mm. There are some recommended speed changes in my 3MF files and a layer height modifier to print the first 0.64 mm @ 0.16 mm layer height to speed up the print as there is no blending on those layers.

Like all of my models this is strictly for personal use. The photo attached is the printed model and frame.
