Introducing ScrewGuard!

 

Tired of losing those tiny screws while tinkering with your 3D printer or other gadgets? Look no further! I've designed this compact magnetic container with your (and my) needs in mind.

 

Picture this: you're knee-deep in 3D printer maintenance, unscrewing and re-screwing tiny bolts.

 

How many times have you struggled to keep track of those elusive screws, only to find them scattered on the floor? Fear not! This magnetic container is here to save the day.

 

Simply place your screws on the surface, and watch as the powerful magnets work their magic.

The container securely holds all your screws in place, preventing them from wandering off.

 

Need to organize screws for different tasks? No problem. The container features eight magnets along the edge, providing designated spaces for screws in use.

 

And here's another feature: Ever find yourself unsure about the diameter of the screw in your hand? No worries! Check out the six labeled holes on the upper edge of the container. They correspond to different screw diameters, providing an instant reference guide to identify the size of your screw. Never guess again – stay organized and efficient with the ScrewGuard!

 

But that's not all – for the ultimate security, toss your screws right in the middle, where the larger magnet reigns supreme. Say goodbye to the frustration of lost screws on the floor – with ScrewGuard, you'll never have to worry about it again. Keep your workspace tidy and your screws in check!

 

Print

 

No support needed

 

Unfortunately the top part must be printed facedown where the text are placed. So for printed text you need an AMS.

 

But no worry if you haven't an AMS, just get the NO AMS version without the text.

 

BOM (Bill of Materials)

  • 1x magnet 20x2mm
  • 8x magnets 5x2mm or 6x2mm

Assembly


Absolutely no glue is required. I've meticulously crafted every element to eliminate the necessity for adhesive. The larger magnet remains securely in place thanks to precision joints, and the 8 smaller magnets effortlessly slide into their designated slots, snugly held in position by the threaded base.

 

Let's start assembly it!

Begin by placing the Base and inserting the 20x2mm magnet securely, just push it down.

 

Next, take the Top piece and position it face down. Start inserting the 8 magnets, ensuring to place your finger in the previous hole where the last magnet was inserted. This precaution prevents the new magnet from being attracted by the others in place.

 

Once you've completed this step, swiftly place the base on top and start tight it. Be sure to do it quickly to prevent the main magnet from attracting the others.

 

You are done.

 

Save the screws!

very nice design and fit. my text wasn’t that great on my .4 nozzle but that’s on me. I might try a reprint with .2

.4mm should work for text just use .12mm layer height and probably a cool plate instead the textured one (they are tiny). BTW nice make thank you!

here is a reprint with my .2 nozzle. Better text, though it looks like I could have done a better job with my flushing volumes.

Love this, but had really bad overhang quality, so tested different settings and after 5 test prints i find out the right settings. The 20x2 magnet i had to glue.

Love it, but 6x2 magnets do not fit. The opening is only 5.38mm when printed. Thankfully you included the step file so I was able to make adjustments in Fusion 360. Thanks for the great file.
