Is there a specific reason the bottom plate comes in 2 separated plates? why not designed as 1 plate?

Poor design decision really, with hindsight it would have been better if one piece, if I have time i will revisit it and add an assembled bottom piece.

It works at the moment, so would not say poor design, only just room for improvement. Thanks for clarifying and looking forward to the updated model! (I printed one for on my desk at work, so having only 2 parts would be better for that purpose.)
