Description

CAUTION: The following product is clinically proven to be addictive and satisfying!!!

Looking for something to 3D print for those Trick or Treaters? The Fidget Keychains are quick to print and low material! You can print a single one in less than 20 minutes or whole batch of fidget clickers in a matter of hours!!!

Unlike loud and annoying snappers, these are quiet (unless you go excessively hard) which is perfect for classrooms, waiting rooms, libraries, study session, etc.

For best results, break in the fidget keychain while the piece is still fresh and warm (within a few minutes of when the print finished). When I say “break in”, it means to take it in both hands and click it back and forth as quick as you can for approximately 30 seconds. The more you use it, the more “snap” it will have!

This fidget keychain is designed with compliant mechanisms. It was inspired by projects done by BYU CMR. With that in mind and since we are not using polypropylene, eventually the mechanism will fatigue. When that does, I'm sorry. I hope you enjoyed it while it lasted. Print another one and go again!!

Printing Material Notes:

  • PLA Matte
    • Prints great! I use this for the majority of my prints.
  • PLA Basic
    • I noticed this material squeaked a little when I first used it. With more use, the squeak went away and I got a rather satisfying click…until it fatigued.
  • PLA-CF
    • This one will Snap! It will be loud, but also extremely satisfying. Once you go PLA-CF, you won't go back.
  • PLA Silk
    • Looks amazing BUT it doesn't snap very well.

Future upgrades coming soon!

As described, soft click option. Weird feeling at first but once it's broken in, it's kinda nice! Thank you.

Title: A Satisfying 3D-Printed Delight: The Fidget Keychain Review Reviewer: GadgetEnthusiast123 Rating: ★★★★★ (5/5) In the ever-evolving world of 3D-printed novelties, the Fidget Keychain stands as a testament to the fascinating potential of this technology. As a dedicated gadget enthusiast, I was eager to delve into the realm of 3D-printed fidget toys, and the Fidget Keychain did not disappoint. Here's an in-depth review of this captivating creation: Design and Innovation: ★★★★★ (5/5) The Fidget Keychain is a masterstroke of design and innovation. Drawing inspiration from projects by BYU CMR and incorporating compliant mechanisms, this fidget toy delivers an exceptionally satisfying experience. The keychain's design takes into account its users' need for quiet, discreet fidgeting, making it an excellent choice for various settings, from classrooms to libraries. What truly elevates this product is the interactive element. Users are encouraged to "break in" the keychain right after printing, infusing the experience with a sense of playfulness and hands-on exploration. This design choice is not only intriguing but also educative, as it subtly underscores the inherent limitations of 3D-printed objects when the mechanisms eventually fatigue. Materials and Their Impact: ★★★★☆ (4/5) The choice of materials is a pivotal factor influencing the performance of 3D-printed products, and the Fidget Keychain offers a glimpse into this world. PLA Matte, a widely-used material, stands out for its reliability and versatility. However, it's the comments on PLA Basic and PLA Silk that provide insight into the dynamic nature of 3D-printed objects. PLA Basic, initially producing a squeak, eventually transforms into a satisfying click with continued use, showcasing the evolving nature of these creations. While PLA Silk might be visually appealing, it does not offer the same level of tactile satisfaction. The real star, though, is PLA-CF, celebrated for its resounding snap. It may be a bit loud, but it undoubtedly delivers on the promise of satisfaction. Appeal and Versatility: ★★★★★ (5/5) The Fidget Keychain's true allure lies in its remarkable versatility. Its unobtrusive and quiet operation renders it suitable for a vast array of environments, making it an appealing choice for a broad audience. Whether you're a student seeking a subtle tool for concentration in the classroom or a professional needing a silent distraction during meetings, this fidget keychain caters to your needs. It doesn't take long for the user to become engrossed in its engaging, repetitive motion. As you continue to use it, the satisfaction it offers becomes increasingly difficult to resist, and you'll find yourself reaching for it repeatedly. Future Upgrades and The Promise of Innovation: ★★★★☆ (4/5) The mention of future upgrades is a tantalizing prospect. As technology advances, we can anticipate even more thrilling iterations of these fidget keychains. However, the review falls short of providing substantial insights into what these upgrades might encompass. Will they reduce noise further, enhance durability, or introduce entirely new features? The reader is left curious and eager for more detailed information regarding the direction of these potential innovations. In conclusion, the Fidget Keychain emerges as a delightful 3D-printed creation that not only fulfills its promise of satisfaction but exceeds it. It seamlessly blends ingenious design, thoughtful material selection, and advanced engineering principles, making it an ideal choice for a diverse audience. While no product is entirely flawless, the Fidget Keychain, with its inherent potential for future improvements, offers a captivating addition to the world of fidget toys and 3D printing. If you're in search of a quiet, satisfying fidgeting experience, this keychain not only deserves your attention but also stands as a shining example of 3D-printed innovation that's likely to only get better with time.

The print was great quality with a reasonable print time. I printed several to pass out to Tricker Treaters, I think the adults like them too!
