Description

A rubber band-driven toy car made of parts of the new 3D-printable Stemfie3D construction set. This toy car is easy to 3D-print and quick to build. It is the first project demonstrating the new and fully 3D-printable educational construction set toy.

This project exhibits the retention and controlled release of energy to achieve motion. The inspiration for this design is borrowed from science classes in schools, using the mousetrap challenge.

Hi Stemfie3D, this design is cool. Could you add the tiers to the print profile?

You can download the blender file and export them as STL from there. I have just done that and uploaded a new print profile that you are welcome to try

Printed with PETG, it looks fine but had some under extrusion in some places. I might used too strong rubber band as the lever shoots out, the wheels turn very quickly but the car is not moving forward.

I am having a hard time putting it together, The written instructions are for the incorrect 3d print . In addition the YouTube video shows a 3d printed item that is used to tighten the parts together but I could not find it to print it! The YouTube video is too fast to follow. I tried to slow it down but without written instructions and the printed part to tighten it together I am ready to give up on this ! Very flustered.
