Description

LET THERE BE CARNAGE! This is a Hueforge filament painting of my favorite homicidal psychopathic alien symbiote, Carnage. This is meant as a companion to my Spider-Man and Venom paintings found HERE. The frame for all of my, and probably the vast majority of 200x200 prints, is HERE.

*

This is a 4 color print that can easily be done by people with or without AMS units. If you have an A1 mini or any other printer with a bed smaller than the capacity to print 200x200 you can use the slicer to scale the model in the correct profile for your multi color setup just make sure NOT TO SCALE THE Z dimension.

*

IMPORTANT: READ BEFORE PRINTING

*

Make sure your two red colors have good contrast.

I have uploaded two 3MF profiles. One for people with an AMS and one for people with NO AMS.

*

To print with 1 AMS units all you need to do is load the colors in order and print.

*

To print with NO AMS unit you just need to do manual filaments swaps every color. The 3MF is set to pause at the correct layer heights. At each pause load the next filament color in order by following your unload/load procedure for your particular printer, then hit resume. Repeat until complete. This will be once per color over the entire painting. You have a decent amount of time between swaps.

*

Print at 100% infill with a layer height of 0.08mm with a base layer of 0.16mm. There are some recommended speed changes in my 3MF files and a layer height modifier to print the first 0.64 mm @ 0.16 mm layer height to speed up the print as there is no blending on those layers.

*

Like all of my models this is strictly for personal use. The photo attached is the printed model and frame.

*

Print at 100% infill with a layer height of 0.08mm with a base layer of 0.16mm

*

Filaments Used:
PLA BambuLab Basic Black Transmission Distance: 0.6
PLA BambuLab Basic Red Transmission Distance: 5
PLA BambuLab Matte Dark Red Transmission Distance: 1.4
PLA BambuLab Matte Ivory White Transmission Distance: 4.4 (I accidentally used Jade White and it came out fine)

*

Swap Instructions:
Start with Black
At layer #16 (1.36mm) swap to Red
At layer #24 (2mm) swap to Dark Red
At layer #27 (2.24mm) swap to Jade White for the rest.

hey I printed this with the blood of my enemies filament and here are the results, the one on the left (a) is replacing the basic red as you mentioned, the one of the right (b) inverts the reds. I think b looks better but I want to have more of the blood filament in there. With a it gets washed out on top of the black, with b there isn't enough of it. What are your thoughts?

Thanks for trying this and sharing the prints. That is unfortunately not how it looked in Hueforge and I agree with your assesment that it is too washed out. I like the second one better.

This carnage print is just badass haha My 3 yr old loves carnage & venom & was thrilled to have this one so Thank You! Only thing I would change is adding another layer of white to the background, the red layer below caused it to be just slightly pinkish, still looks amazing & maybe its the colors I used having different TDs from what you used but if there was 1 more layer I think the contrast would make it "pop" even more.

I agree on that. I actually made a note of it in the model post as I originally modeled it with Matte White, but accidentally used basic which is slightly more transparent. Was this with basic or matte?

I used the basic jade white, still love it though 👍
