Description

INTRODUCTION

This project was born in the spirit of providing a functional and optimized mount for the community of Sapphire users and it's the result of more than 200 hours of design, testing and reiterating in my free time.

I will do my best to maintain and improve the project with incremental upgrades, but maintenance takes time and effort. If you wish to support my work and motivate me please consider to buy me a coffee ☕

Thank you very much for your support!!! ❤️

THE DIAMOND MOUNT 💎

Designed with “form follows function” in mind, the goal was to have a mount with optimized cooling, totally hidden cables, bowden, Sherpa mini or Sherpa micro direct drive support, integrated belt tensioner, an ADXL345 mount for Klipper and more. It is tailored around the geometry of Two Trees Sapphires printers but can be mounted on any MGN12H rail printer if belt path is adaptable.

Diamond mount currently supports E3D V6, V6 Volcano and similars, Dragon with a groove or rigid mount, Phaetus Dragonfly, Mellow NF-Crazy (mosquito) and more!

If you like my design, please rate it and post your make! Any comment and suggestion to improve the project is really appreciated, I will release future updates in this page.

Many thanks to my friend BostonGeorge_76 and to my others beta testers friends for helping me to test and improve the mount.

For assembly please read the ASSEMBLY GUIDE carefully!

FEATURES

  • Low poly diamond-like design
  • Designed for 3D printing, all overhangs and tolerances are adjusted to have a perfect fit and to be printed without supports (you just need good cooling and bridge tuning).
  • Modular support for BL-touch and P.I.N.D.A. probe, you can adapt other probes using the faceplate STEP file
  • Natively compatible with Sherpa Mini and Micro, compatbile too with BMG in direct drive, Orbiter V1.1, V1.5, V2, LGX Lite, TBG Lite with the use of the adapting plate
  • An actual belt tensioner, you can fine tune the tension of each belt simply with an M3 screw (turning clockwise tight the belt and anticlockwise to release tension)
  • Belt perfectly parallel for both Pro/Plus V1 and Plus V1.1 with dedicated belt clamps
  • Removable rear belts blocks (you can disassembly the mount without losing the tensioning setting)
  • Brass inserts for structural fittings, 2 versions of top and main frame available for 5mm and 4.6mm diameter inserts (for extra additions like fans and ADXL there are calibrated holes for screws, to keep a lightweight solution)
  • Tilted part cooling fans, resulting in a smaller attack angle inside the duct, and improvements over the laminar flow
  • Ducts designed with CFD simulations (modeled on GDStime fan curve) to optimize flow without loosing pressure. Real tests were done to match the simulations
  • X axis limit switch hidden and integrated in the top frame (sensorless homing supported with dummy endstop)
  • Internal cables management (no cables are visible) with routes and guiding tube
  • Low weight thanks to the removal of all the original metal plates, it can reach 130g in the lightest bowden configuration
  • You gain about 5mm of Z but you will lose a few mm on X and Y (less than 10 in total) so if you don't like this please don't use it
  • The space to fit the ADXL345 accelerometer, used for Klipper, is embedded in the main frame and positioned in the center of gravity to avoid misreadings
  • Hidden hotend fan maintaining a proper flow
  • Hidden bed probe integrated in the faceplate (no LEDs disturbing the webcam)

And, if you want to buy another printer for this mount (😂):

I hope you will enjoy this project as much as I do. Please consider supporting my work by donating so I can continue creating for you.

Thanks a lot 😊

Please read the ASSEMBLY GUIDE carefully before asking help!

Have fun and... shine bright like a diamond! 💎

I have no need for this in my life YET. However I wanted to share my appreciation of a great looking design. can’t speak to the functionality but I would be curious to play with this tool head on another machine for sure!

Hi, what about bambu hotend support? Will there be any updates in this direction? Regards

Good. I have this mount installed on both my Sapphire SP-5 and SP-3 but I would like to upgrade to the Bamboo Lab hotend. Is the mount for the same already available? If so, which Bambu Lab hotend to use? The one from X1C/P1P or the ones from A1?
