I have simplified some of my pattern coasters to be printed with one filament change during printing. This is what the patterns look like printed with one color on a textured build plate https://imgur.com/cpwYY2Z
The design is 2 pieces. The black piece is the pattern, and the white piece is just a plain circle on top of the pattern. You can print both of these pieces the same color if you wish. If you have a textured build plate, the pattern will be visible, even with just 1 color.
Or you can have both pieces be different colors, and that will still only do one filament swap during printing. Here is an example of what the pattern looks like with, and without a color swap (this is on a textured build plate)
Hopefully this makes it easier for people without AMS units to print these patterns. This method is how I usually print my patterns, as it's much quicker, less wasteful, and I like the way it looks more.
With the model being 2 pieces, if you wish to resize the z-height, adjust the height on the white piece.
