Description

A long time ago, in a galaxy far far away….

I designed this Star Wars themed clock, the Death Star Clock.

The clock is easy to print and will fit on Mk3 print beds. I've also added a version for the mini, couldn't test this though as I don't own a mini.

The clock itself comes a single piece, you will need supports around the center hole. There are optional minute and hour hands.

A 9mm center hole it has, a clock mechanism like this or similar, you will need.

As a bonus, there's also an X Wing model you can clip on the second indicator, however this may not work with every clock mechanism (depends on the torque of the mechnism). you can clip it under from below.

May try “OPT_X Wing_light.stl" if it doesn't work for your mechanism.

This design is still subject to change so check back again for updates.

If there's demand, I could also upload a version with the non destroyed death star.

May the force be with you!

NK

Hello ... Do you have a link to the clock base you used please.

Yes, I see that you need a 9mm hole but what clock mech shaft length is needed?

What clock mech did you use? I tried several but none were stong enough to move the x-wing.

it looks great! only complaint is how solid the back is, I wonder if it could be adjusted so that it’s not a solid piece so it would use less filament

Order the clock mechanism from Amazon. Need the extra long shaft, or you will have to shorten the depth of the hour hand to make it fit. But awesome build.

I'm giving 4 stars only because the link to the clock mechanism doesn't work, and the creator hasn't updated it can't reply to comments with an updated link. I bought a high torque clock mechanism and I still couldn't get it to work with the x wing, so I had to slice the x wing down to about 3 layers for the clock mechanism to work right. also, I had to buy separate clock hands, because I couldn't figure out which click mechanism was used that would support the printer hands in the profile.
