Description

Are you in need of a Donkey Kong desk toy? Well, you're in luck! This Donkey Kong desk toy will help keep you entertained while sitting at work. All parts press together without glue. I also included a plain, non-slotted barrel for your enjoyment.

The models are all composed of separate objects that can be colored individually by assigning the filament to the objects. No need for cumbersome painting tools here.

Donkey Kong has 5 colors, and CAN be printed with a single AMS unit. Print it face-down for a nice surface. Black is used in all layers and is 3mm (15 layers) thick. The colors, white and tan, are each 1mm (5 layers) thick, while brown and purple are only .2mm (1 layer). This helps cut down on filament swaps while keeping the lighter colors bright, and allows us to replace only 1 spool during the first layer.

Here's how this is done.

Add your filaments in Bambu Studio.

Filament colors:

(note that slot 6, silver Generic PLA Silk, is for the barrel and not used during the Donkey Kong print)

Assign colors to objects:

Edit the first layer filament sequence (click the hex icon next to the build-plate).

First layer filament sequence:

Click and drag to change the order. We want it in this order: BROWN - TAN - BLACK - PURPLE - WHITE

After hitting “PRINT PLATE”, assign the colors to the proper AMS slots. Note that BROWN and WHITE are both assigned to slot A1.

Start the print and after the first color, BROWN, finishes and rewinds, replace the spool with WHITE while the next color prints.

That's all there is to it.

Once the print is finished, load up the DK Barrel, assign the colors to the objects, and print away.

Finally, print the base, press the pieces together, and play with your new toy. You can print a bunch of DK barrels (with the slot) or plain barrels (without the slot) and stack them on your desk. Toss them at Donkey Kong, your family members, co-workers, boss, clients, or anyone who needs a barrel tossed (thrown) to (at) them. There's so much fun to be had with the Donkey Kong Desk Toy!
