Description

Add a touch of the moon to your Christmas tree! This ornament features a detailed moon surface lithophane using the NASA CGI kit. It holds an LED tealight candle inside with a screw-on mechanism, shining through the lithophane to give you a realistic moon on your tree (use a finer layer height for finer detail).

You will need to print:

  1. The moon ball
  2. Either one of the cap styles (Type A for a full moon experience, Type B for easy installation and removal.)
  3. A screw cage from the basic tealight ball ornament page https://makerworld.com/en/models/73472#profileId-77924
  4. Optionally a string bead from the basic tealight ball ornament page https://makerworld.com/en/models/73472#profileId-77924

Find detailed assembly instructions on the basic tealight ball ornament page: (https://makerworld.com/en/models/73472#profileId-77924)

worked good for me there was some spagoot failure on the inside where the orb and hanger meet. see pic. I used the designer's settings and Bambu Labs PLA yellow Glow filament. incredible results on the glow and the detail.

I'd use smaller or variable layers.

Thank you for your interest and suggestions. The uploaded print profile used a 0.24mm layer height for fast printing. I mentioned in the model descriptions that using a finer layer height will result in finer detail. Since the 0.24mm print is detailed enough for me, I didn't upload another print profile as I haven't tested it, and it didn't feel right to post something I haven't tested. The same applies to the cap's profiles. I hope this explains the reasoning behind the decision.
