Description

This is a test model to find the best flowrate for ironing with a specific filament. Standard setting is set to 10% flow, and that's not enough for some filaments. Print my 3mf and change filament for the part and see directly on the part when its finished what flowrate is best.

Feel free to modify if you want.

It's just a quick and dirty way to check the best flow.

Remember that large prints may need more flow than this test print will tell you because of the small footprint.

Quick print to check iron flow settings. However, I didn't observe any noticeable differences in the samples or a recreation of the issue I was troubleshooting. I think the particular issue I had would occur with ironing a larger surface area than the circles in this print.

Yes that's a correct analysis from you. This is just a quick and dirty print to get a grasp of the flow rate when ironing, Best tip i have is to increase the number of Top surface layers and have the filament fine tuned to get good results when ironing large surfaces, You could also try a larger line width on top surface if that's a option. Best of luck to you!

Thanks. I found some ironing settings someone else was using and just gave it a shot on my print. It ended up working. If I have to troubleshoot a similar issue again with another filament, I'd look at using this model and scale the x/y dimensions to test larger surface areas.

really good test. depending on the filament it is hard to get of the build plate, but thats not a big problem

quick and simple hard to complain about that. looks like 30 is the best for me. half to try it on a few other types.

Printed well, confirmed % Changes, all very close and would be happy with any of them but think for my config 25% looks like the best. Thanks for the test!

printed great and helped me dial in ironing on my A1 mini. ended up with 21% as my magic number.

honestly couldn't really tell the difference between the different iron levels. they all look about the same. but good. also maybe include a circle without any ironing for better comparison?
