3D model description

SNAP IN MECHANISMS, IT DOES NOT NEED ANY GLUE AND YOU CAN PRINT EACH PIECE IN DIFFERENT COLORS

TESTED WITH:

XBOX 360 CONTROLLER

XBOX 1 CONTROLLER

DUALSHOCK CONTROLLER (PS1 - PS2 - PS3)

PS4 CONTROLLER

DUALSENSE CONTROLLER (PS5)

GENERIC PC CONTROLLERS ( THE ONES ON THE GIF)

This model includes 3 individual pieces:

-base with the crystals

-chain ( both sides are the same)

-controler platform

*the base with the crystals is all one piece so in order to get a two color finish, one for the crystals and one for the ground, you need to switch filament in the middel of the print which can be done with any printer, the one on the video was printed on an Ender 3 stock

3D printing settings

for the base with crystals:

  • infill: at least 10% ( for good resistance of the crystals)

-layer height: 0.16 works fine

-bed adhesion: it does not need.

-support: it does not need.

for the chain:

  • infill: minimun 15% to ensure good resistance.

-layer height: 0.16 works fine

-bed adhesion: raft recommended

-support: block of support for the whole foundation, with 5% infill to

prevent the piece from coming off since there will be some

levering of your hotend when printing the highest part.

for the space between each chain link you must add a little block

of support to cover just the surface of the next link above ( you

can see this on the pictures)

for the controller platform:

-ATENTION: in order for the snap mechanism to work properly

without breaking, this piece needs to be printed in such an angle

that the little clasps that connect to the chain are positioned as a

vertical cylinder on the print bed; in a longitudinal way ( you can

see this in more detail on the pictures attached)

  • infill: at least 10%

-layer height: 0.16 works fine

-bed adhesion: it does not need.

-support: it does need a little support after you rotate this piece.

as previously suggested, you can see details on how these

support pieces go on the pictures attached.
